Why crude oil prices will remain high >>> US100 per barrel ???

Everyone wants to knows why oil prices, at around $125 for a barrel of Brent crude, are so high ? Also in the short term, the market is tight, supplies have been disrupted and Iran with its nuclear capability is making everyone nervous. Look at the global oil consumption. Demand from emerging countries is growing. From 2000-2010, our crude … Read entire article »

IWC Big Pilot – A favourite for those prefer big and beautiful hand crafted timepiece.

The IWC Big Pilot. I love the Big Pilot watch, more so the reference 5002 which came out in 2002. The reference 5004 came out in 2006 and now we have the reference 5009. I am not too sure what are the major difference between the reference 5004 and the 5009, but one of the thing I read is that IWC have improved on the winding stem design to prevent or reduce the likelihood of stripping the threads. Here is the IWC Big pilot YouTube Video. It makes you want to become a “real” pilot. … Read entire article »

Weekly Audio Commentary by Bill Wermine – 6 April 2012

Quote of the Week: “Don’t follow the herd – it may be heading to the slaughterhouse” The herd instinct is extremely powerful in Malaysia. Both local retail and foreign retail investors fall prey to it. Tracking investor sentiment is extremely profitable, if you remember that happy masses precede crashes. Bubbles come and go in Asia and more so in Malaysia on a regular basis. Know when to get off by monitoring volatility, small cap stock e.g. penny stocks, … Read entire article »

Quote of the Week: “The Pros are always wrong” The reality is that professional consensus is always wrong. Why ? The market is a discounter of all know info. That is core finance theory. If you know what you know especially as the pros as a group are a perfect quide to what wont happen.  Figuring what they dont know gives a possibility of beating the pros. - Kenneth Fisher- … Read entire article »

Why the Chinese Mainland citizens love their gold !

Why the Chinese Mainland citizens love their gold !

From Stansberry Report. Here’s a famous photograph from a 1949 issue of Life Magazine, of Chinese citizens rushing to exchange currency for gold. In an effort to promote confidence in their currency, the government offered citizens the chance to exchange currency for gold at a rate better than could be found on the black market, but had to quit the offer after just 21 hours because of the hysteria that ensued.   Now compared to the modern day … Read entire article »

What’s Really Happening with Gold and Silver in India

What’s Really Happening with Gold and Silver in India

What’s Really Happening with Gold and Silver in India By Jeff Clark, Senior Precious Metals Analyst We’ve read mixed reports about how lofty gold and silver prices are affecting demand in India. One month we’re told demand is up, and the next it’s supposedly down. I’m not suggesting that official reports are inaccurate, but it is admittedly confusing and doesn’t help us understand the real trend in the country. Why should we care about the gold market in … Read entire article »

Quote of the Week: “Balance returns against risk” If you want no risk, invest in cash. You sure cannot get greater returns without assuming some risk. Your goal should be to get the just reward for the risks you elect to take. But you need to measure your risks. - Philippe Jorion- … Read entire article »

Culture of “Cheating Clients” – US Goldman Sachs again….

This post is about a whistleblower and how Goldman Sachs cheats clients. By GREG SMITH Published: March 14, 2012 TODAY is my last day at Goldman Sachs. After almost 12 years at the firm — first as a summer intern while at Stanford, then in New York for 10 years, and now in London — I believe I have worked here long enough to understand the trajectory of its culture, its people and its identity. And I can … Read entire article »
